Just before summer holidays on a nice evening in June I did a short tour around our local birding area. We have a few, but this one is the closest. You can find all sorts of birds, but mainly you’ll find waterbirds. Lately some even have spotted a long-eared owl and a sparrow hawk. More commonly you’ll find besides the waterbirds, goose, seagulls and kestrels, with sometimes a buzzerd.Read More
After coming back from Vancouver and Vancouver island, photos will come later, I needed to test my few months old X-T3 against my former X-T2 for bird photography. So with a nice sun, wind and overall Dutch skies I went to the Groene Jonker and the Waver. See earlier blog posts on both areas here in the Netherlands.Read More

I wanted to share this post as I was just cycling around my home town through the meadows and saw plenty of birds that arrived for the summer here. As wel as many hares and obviously the famous dutch cows and farm land.
As you can see nature is everywhere, especially in spring, just go out and explore. Maybe not all is as exciting as being out in the wilderness, but even here in the urban western part of the Netherlands, you will find interesting animals, compositions and therefor photos!Read More
The Isle of Skye was on my wish list for a few years, however I never really explored the means to get there or the costs. The Zeeland Bridge was built between 1963 and 1965. At the time of its completion, it was the longest bridge of Europe. It has a total length of 5,022 metres, and consists of 48 spans of 95 metres, 2 spans of 72.5 metres and a movable bridge with a width of 40 metres.
The province of Zeeland borrowed the money for the construction of the bridge. The loan was repaid by levying tolls for the first 24 years.
This relatively new nature reserve is restored to it’s natural state to where it was, a flower rich wetland, almost sixty years ago. The restoration was done in the last couple of years where ditches were cut off and water was redirected. This meant that an agricultural land was transformed from grasslands to a more wetlands type of soil. Resulting in some exotic plants, flower and more birds in the area.Read More
Ever since I had a serious telephoto lens I wanted to try bird photography. This is now a couple of years, but I really never got into it, or at least tried it. Now having more experience with shooting with long telephoto lenses and more comfortable with the new Fujifilm setup it is time to have a go.Read More
The beginning of September 2016, just a few days left, will the X-T2 be delivered?
It’s time, the first week of September, just a few days left before Marc and I take a plane to Iceland. For me this is the second time visiting Iceland. The first time was in 2011 and I was totally captivated by the landscape, extreme weather and ever changing conditions.
