Leuvenumse bos - Forest hike with the X-T3 and 50-140

I’ve been looking into different hiking trails in the forest area the Veluwe this time around, to capture wildlife and nature. A more forest type of photography. This was the first outing with the Fujinon 50-140F2.8 and the photos weren’t the primary goal, just a nice walk and getting to know the 50-140 and how it behaves.

Full autumn colours in the forest - Speulderbos

This year I was ready, mid autumn with full colours of the forest trees and leaves, because every year I seem to just miss the ideal few days where the colour is at its best. This year (2018) we had a particularly warm autumn, meaning that the trees kept their leaves much longer, so I was especially lucky. However it was also very wet! No excuses and just go!

Park Eifel and the Urft Dam (with video)

Long on the list and after some research we (with Marc Duiker) drove to Park Eifel. A nature reserver situated near the south east of The Netherlands. It is a long drive, but we figured it is worth it as there are hiking trails, forests and the Urft Dam.

The San Francisco trip - Yosemite National Park

After 5 days in San Francisco it was time to pack and head towards Yosemite National Park. The drive it self was quite boring, but when entering the park and especially Yosemite Valley we were amazed. The grand wild river, the landscape and the mighty El Capitan. That huge monolith rock formation is just amazing!

Series and why you need to create one!

My photography teacher once said “If you want to advance in photography and find your own style, go and create series”. I think he used the word “create” specifically as series do not simply appear (sometimes they do), but in general it takes effort, work and insights to form a real series. A serie is not a random collection of photographs. More on that later.
