Bird Portrait Photography - A concept in the works

I have this idea, for a while now, it started with the photos on the desktop of the Microsoft surface line. Remember, the animals - owl photographed. To me it was as the birds where portrayed as a humans, a portrait almost. This intrigued me enormous and wanted to try this for myself. So I thought let’s try to capture birds in portraits like humans, i.e. bird portrait photography.

Snow and the hunt for foxes - Waterleidingduinen

Here we are again, winter and it’s snowing. The whole country is in chaos, traffic jams up to 2300km in total last evening. However I can only think of one thing! Get out and shoot the next day, in search of foxes in the snow. So let’s go to the dunes, again. Nature here I come. Prepared and all. The little fox that could!

When on my birding outing, see previous post, I stumbled upon a young fox in the Oostvaardersplassen. This little fox was just relaxing and enjoying the sun, even falling a sleep as I walked away. But as foxes are, they still keep a keen eye on you. I just love foxes! See also more here: http://www.robertdoeleman.com/nature/

My first real effort in photographing Dutch birds

Ever since I had a serious telephoto lens I wanted to try bird photography. This is now a couple of years, but I really never got into it, or at least tried it. Now having more experience with shooting with long telephoto lenses and more comfortable with the new Fujifilm setup it is time to have a go.
