Bored - Backyard Birding
When times are difficult of stressful I always tend to go back to what I really love to do. That is photography and cycling. However where cycling is still possible in the Netherlands, going out in nature is still a bit of a problem as too many people do this, especially with the nice weather of the last weeks.
Above the arctic circle - Lapland Inari area
This was on our wish list for a while now. Travel to Lapland, above the arctic circle, experience the snow and the cold, the wide open space and nature. Also, snowshoeing, dogsledding, going out in the wilderness with snowmobiles had also something to do with wanting to go to Lapland.
In search of the European Bison the Wisent part II - with the Fujinon 100-400
It all started with the idea to go to another part of the dunes, namely Nationaal Park Zuid Kennemerland. The first time I visited the park, I was in search of the European bison, also called the Wisent here. However I did not want to give up, so more than a year later, a retry.
Sunday lazy hike in the dunes - Fujifilm X-T3 and Fujinon 100-400mm
Last weekend the sun finally showed itself after numerous days of grey weather with mist, rain and all sorts of dreary conditions. So this was a welcome change. The temperature was a good 8-10C with the sun steadily on the horizon it actually was a really nice warm day. Time to shoot!
A Random bird blog with the Fujifilm X-T3 and the Fujinon 100-400mm
I’ll keep this on short. Two interesting new places that I discovered in the Breda area for “wetlands” and forest type of photography. It was not the best day, but at the end of the day the sun just showed itself and for half an hour there was nice light.
Bird Portrait Photography - The Outtakes
A concept in the works, that was the title of this blog. An idea to capture birds in a “human” like portrait. Difficult yes, but rewarding and so much fun to do! It made me think of composition, contrast, posture and just figuring out how to get a good image.
Vancouver Island - Bird photography
So time flies right? Last spring I visited Vancouver and Vancouver Island for recreational purposes, i.e. vacation, but had the camera with me obviously. Especially Vancouver Island and the Pacific Rim area where I stayed is known for its bald eagles, bears and sea life.
Italian Dolomites Part 4 - Tre Cime di Lavaredo
The fourth and final post of my Dolomite trip back in September, times flies. They say save the best for last, the previous three post you can find here first - second - third, so I did and boy this was the best day of the week. Tre Cime di Lavaredo did not disappoint, however I expected or wished for a more spectacular sunset.
Italian Dolomites Part 3 - Lago di Braies, Cascate di Fanes & Passo di Giau
The first half of this bog is about Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee) and the idea to take multiple photos from different viewpoints. However the weather and the crowds (it’s a very populair place) made me decide to go and explore the forest around Cascate di Fanes. This turned out to be an interesting hike and climb!
