So after the new kid in town, see previous blog, time for an early morning in the dunes and some of the meadows leading up to the dunes. I returned to the Amsterdamse waterleidingduinen, but still want to photograph the wisent in the other part of the dunes here in the Netherlands.Read More
So, it has been quiet for a while for a good reason. That reason is Tom! He was born end of May and is doing fine! The big brother is proud, see Sam in the last photo.
I wanted to share this post as I was just cycling around my home town through the meadows and saw plenty of birds that arrived for the summer here. As wel as many hares and obviously the famous dutch cows and farm land.
As you can see nature is everywhere, especially in spring, just go out and explore. Maybe not all is as exciting as being out in the wilderness, but even here in the urban western part of the Netherlands, you will find interesting animals, compositions and therefor photos!Read More
The Isle of Skye was on my wish list for a few years, however I never really explored the means to get there or the costs. I thought the only way to get there was by boat from The Netherlands to Scotland and then drive, to save costs and go with my own car. Still I thought this was a costly trip and therefor it did not materialise. So why now?Read More
Whenever I visit the Dutch dunes I always end up in the same area. This area lets me photograph nice landscapes, but also a variety of wildlife, ranging from small birds to elk, deer and foxes. Once there it became clear that we would go to Stockholm for the weekend. I really love that city!Read More
Ever since I was little I have been fascinated with planes, flight and especially aerial photography. So when the first satellite photos where available in Google earth it sparked my interest. This was further fueled when I took a hot air balloon ride some years ago. Together with my camera I had a real change of doing my own aerial photography. This for me was a completely different approach to landscape photography that I had ever done before. However this type of photography I could not combine with my love of hiking through nature as you obviously needed a hot air balloon in your backpack. Which is, well, quite impossible.Read More
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. In this case we lost. The last time when I was at the Zeelandbrug I was treated with a gorgeous sky and sunset, see here. However this time we were out of luck. We got up early and got into the car towards Zeeland. Marc Duiker, Marnix Vermaas and myself where pretty enthusiastic as the weather could go both ways. When we were on the highway it started to clear up.Read More
This new year's holiday we decided to go out Germany, staying in the Moesel area right in the middle between Luxembourg city and Frankfurt, around Trier. A perfect place for going out to Saarland and walk around and next to the Moesel.Read More
